We partner with NZ designers to bring their ideas to life. We go in search of the pain points faced when specifying workspace furniture, and then design those frustrations out. We work with many of New Zealand’s most talented creatives to solve workspace design problems and bring innovative products to market. We want to see New Zealand furniture design celebrated on the world stage, ethically, sustainably, and joyfully, not for the accolades but because of the impact it has on the people who use it every day.
Furniture designed with you, not just for you.
Designers
We actively seek out local designers to work with on product development to ensure our products are thoughtfully crafted with New Zealand-specific considerations front of mind. We work with many creatives all over New Zealand to bring innovative new concepts to market – if you’re a designer, Contact us if you would like to work together!
Our design process involves extensive research, prototyping, and testing, with the aim of producing long-lasting, sustainable, and timeless products.
We start with a clear description of the problem we are solving, then run through multiple ideations of concepts that achieve the key elements of the brief. Market research and feasibility studies are conducted, and prototypes are made, tested, and refined, until the product is ready for market in its final form.
Case Study – Motiv3
Existing workstations systems on the market suffered from unsightly, unsafe, and ineffective cable management. Our brief was to design a high-quality, sustainably manufactured, workstation system with the world’s most effective cable management.
The resulting Motiv3 system with Clearway cable management is a fully resolved innovative cable-hiding system that is tidy, safe, and easy to use. Supporting effective and safe working environments, Clearway clears the desk of cable clutter while enabling easy above-desk access to a wide variety of power options, including fast charging for devices. Motiv3 has been certified AFRDI Green tick and tested to quality standard AS/NZS 4442:2018.
Sustainable Design & Materials Selection
The environmental impact of our products is taken into account at the very inception of all new products.
Some of these considerations include:
• Choice of materials focusing on recycled content, VOC emissions, sustainability, low embedded carbon materials, and recyclability
• Modularity of the product so it can be re-configured and parts easily replaced to extend useful life
• Flat-packing for transport to minimise freight volumes
• Durability to maximise the useful life of the furniture
• Easy to break down into individual components at the end of life so each component can be recycled
