Arup and Unispace set out to create one of the most sustainable workplaces in Aotearoa, aiming for the Living Building Challenge accreditation – the world’s most stringent sustainability standard. The result is a space that not only meets the net-zero by 2030 goal but also positively impacts the environment and occupants’ wellbeing. Achieving Living Building Challenge certification is no small feat, and Arup’s workplace stands as a benchmark for future corporate environments in Aotearoa.

Although the part we played in this project was small, we were humbled and proud to provide Arup with office furniture solutions that would assist them in reaching their sustainability goals.
As the workplace undergoes the final stages of the 12-month audit, we look forward to witnessing Arup’s space become the first interior in New Zealand to receive Living Building Challenge certification.

This project has not only garnered well-deserved recognition but has also won prestigious awards including the following:
– 2023 Best Awards (Gold in Workplace Environments),
– 2023 RICS NZ Awards (Project Management Team 2023),
– 2024 Better Future Australian Awards (Gold in International Interior Design).
