From small beginnings come great things!

Crestline is a family business with 3 generations actively involved in the day-to-day operations. We’ve spent over 30 years designing products for New Zealand workspaces.

Since 1987 Crestline has been listening to customers & designing office spaces for companies who want more.
More options, more flexibility, more design.
Over this time we have built a reputation for listening…
for bringing ideas to life…

Over the next 30 years we want to see NZ furniture design celebrated on the world stage, ethically, sustainably, and joyfully, not for the accolades but because of the impact it has on the people who use it everyday!

1987

Back in 1987

The 1987 stock market crash gave Owen Renton the motivation to start what was initially “Crestline Trading.”

Crestline started out buying up second-hand office furniture, refurbishing it and repurposing it, rain hail or shine. This involved many trips to Turners auctions and operating with very limited transportation.

1990

Under Construction

Rapid growth saw a purpose-built showroom & warehouse constructed at 776 Grey Street, Claudelands.

1992

Hand-drawn Adverts

Hand-drawn adverts were the only option at this stage. Many creative contributions came to the floor.

1995

Datazone Workstations

A revolutionary workstation system with over 2000 layout options, Crestline designed the Datazone system to provide the ideal workspace, with ergonomics, durability, and a place for everything, all while making the best use of floor space.

2001

Further Expansion

Another 600m² of land was purchased and Crestline built a 550m² building onto the back of the existing warehouse.

2002

Sherwood Finesse

The timeless elegance of durable Melteca surfaces with solid timber sharknose edging. A versatile and modular system designed to suit changing needs.

2004

Orion Range

Designed to make life easier and your valuable space more useable. The Orion range was designed for those who appreciate the finer details of quality and style, expressed in fluid lines and a subtle blend of natural timber, stainless steel, and textured finishes.
