Orgatec ’22
It was great to be back at Orgatec in Cologne, the first time the biggest European furniture fair has been held since 2018, with the scheduled 2020 event cancelled due to the pandemic.
With this year’s theme being ‘New Visions of Work’, it was exciting to see the new concepts and products exhibited by the industries innovation leaders.
The key trends at this year’s event centred around sustainability and flexibility:
– Products incorporating innovative new materials and construction methods, with greater use of recycled materials, and life extendibility through easily interchangeable components
– Flexible furniture solutions, with easily movable tables and seating on castors for quick reconfiguration or relocation within the office.
Task seating designed for flexible workspaces and multiple users, with ‘Intelligent Kinetic’ mechanisms needing minimal adjustment between users.
– Acoustic solutions are also seen to be an increasingly important part of the office environment, with a large part of one of the exhibition halls devoted to various iterations of the acoustic pod – some good and some not so!
We were pleased to be able to catch up with some of our key supply partners over the two days on the ground and are also very excited about some new collaborations being entered into to bring new world-leading concepts to the NZ market – watch this space!!
